Dan,

Predictably, I use the emacs calendar, diary and appointment reminders
within emacspeak.  Has been working great for me since, lets look,
well, my oldest apointment reminders are from 1997, so that is the
last time I started with a clean diary file. (Hay, I should probably
clean out those old appointments... )
