I have an eee pc 1000HD. Once I can get all the components. I plan on using that as a wearable. It seems like it would make a decent wearable. The most appealing thing for me is that I will be able to also use it as a laptop.

Greg Priest Dorman. Played around with an EEE PC as a wearable. Here is a link

How about an Asus Eee-PC with USB keyboard and VGA screen?

The box is small enough. Linux installed. No fans or disk
motors. Sound on-board. 802.11 wireless LAN support. And
connector for external screen.

Just add a HMD and a Twiddler.

Unfortunately, I cannot make the MicroOptical recognize
the VGA signal of the Eee-PC. And the battery time is not
too impressive.

BTW, the MicroOptical is hard to configure without good
hardware support. It appears as if they expect(ed) you to
use Microsoft Windows.
