[Wear-Hard] DIY chording keyboard made from joystick/game pad

I was poking around the net looking for info on DIY chording keyboards when I found joy2chord. Linux software that lets you use a joystick or game pad as a chording keyboard.

I was thinking you could combine a hacked game pad with a hand held trackball to create a twiddler like device.  I haven't tested joy2cord yet. If any of you try it out, I would like to know how it goes.
