Hello,

Might anyone be familiar with the link between the Rockwell Trekker and
CPSI (Xybernaut)? Also, are any of these wearables available for sale?
Older Koppin HMDs are also of interest.

Thanks,

Randy

"Data gloves may have come a long way since the days of the Power
Glove, but they've also tended to get pretty expensive as more and
more tech found their way into 'em. The folks at AnthroTronix look to
be doing their small part to change that with their new Acceleglove,
however, which packs a not too crazy price tag of $500 and, according
to the company, all the features you'd expect to find on a $5,000
glove. Chief among those features are accelerometers on each finger,
which can track precise gestures like pinching and, as you can see in
the video after the break, are more than up to all-important the task
of controlling a robotic arm. Best of all, the glove comes complete
with an open source SDK to let you get as much out of the glove as
you're willing to put into it."

Any one know how this is difference from the P5 glove?

Beside of obvious that it cost $500 instead of the $130($50 on clearance)
and uses Accelerometers instead of IR and Flex sensors.

But difference between the Acceleglove and P5 seems to be like the
difference between a ball mouse and and optical mouse.

And has Accelerometers improved that much from since the Wii came out??
They Wiimote had to have a IR camera put in it to be able to tell where on
the screen you are pointing.? As any one that played Wii golf can tell you
06's accelerometer tech can't track fine movements.?

Like Robert Spence said when talking about Identification by pointing: the
'teletouch' facility
"Indeed, the realization of a pointing-direction sensor is considerably
eased by the comparatively low accuracy which can be tolerated (approximately
+/-2 degrees) given that conformatory feedback (the ""finger-print) allows
errors to be corrected by a small movement of the hand."
