Today, Mom and Dad brought up the new used car that we got from our brother-in-law in NJ. Then they took us out to dinner! Yay food! On the way back, we're driving up rt 116, and there's an accident ahead. Mom's an EMT and Dad's a nurse; do we have to stop? (In MA, it's required for EMTs to stop, although we aren't sure about out of state EMTs.) They are looking like we're not gonna stop -- people are on cell phones calling in the accident, etc. -- and then we see the second car. Crushed in on the driver side, the driver looks unconcious. Dad just pulls over. We all get out. Mom and Dad make their way over and start working with the man. EMS finally shows up, and for reasons no one understands, Mom ends up pretty much in charge! They had to defib the guy and it didn't work, so it is likely that the man won't make it. From everything they can figure, he passed out driving, which caused the accident. Greg and I have to check the papers tomorrow to find out. I love my parents. They're so cool. |
