I got turned down for The (Good) Fanfiction Webring. They are the self-proclaimed snobbiest Ring on the net, working to bring only the best fanfiction to their readers. It was a very positive denial, however, so I'm actually inspired by it. Here's the main excerpt: "You have a LOT of potential; much of your fiction is eye-catching, and interesting, and holds the reader's attention. Your characterization is steady and well spun. However, we also feel that your style needs to mature more, and that your plots need just a little bit of filling out. Not to say that you writing isn't good- it was well enjoyed. ^^" So you can see where I'm encouraged. I only started writing fanfiction this past year. At least what is considered traditionally fanfiction. I've also been writing Pern stuff for sever fan clubs for years, but we don't play with established characters in those, so it isn't really what most think of as fan fiction. What I'm writing now is Legion of Super-Heroes stuff, although I have a Revolutionary Girl Utena fic turning itself over and over in my head. My father went back to the hospital with more chest pains. This time they are saying he has congestive heart failure. But they are also saying it might be an infection. Both sound bad, really, and I'm not happy about either. I'm not about to panic or break down, though. It's weird. My supervisor at work, Jessie, asked if I wanted to talk, but I turned her down. I'm not worried. I feel like I should be worried, but I'm not. IS that weird? Is that normal? I can't get ahold of my parents to find out the story. Gyah I can't find out where Josepha Sherman and Susan Schwartz are from. I'm sure its on the net somewhere, but I'm too lazy to look right ths minute. I don't know why Amanda needs it. (The joy of journal updates while online.) I am so broke right now, I'm not sure I have enough money to get to work and back tonight. I was nervous about last night's hockey game. I was stuck watching at work, which meant I was watching the Gamecast on ESPN, hoping for little round circles that mean the Devils have scored. But since the games are in Colorado, they start at 8 EST, which meant my lunch (usually around 10 pm or so) was period 3! So I got to watch most of the third period. We won! The Devils won! Roy is not unbeatable! *madly hop around the room* Yay us! And now, for the bad segue My husband's Uncle Rob passed away, and the funeral is this morning. Why do people hold funerals at 10 am? Don't they know these are sleeping times for people like me? But we'll be there. I've actually met this Uncle a few times, mostly after other funerals. I'd think this was sad, except that my husband's family gets together at the drop of a hat. (Think it was sad I've only met him at funerals. Of course I think its sad he's died.) Makes me worry about my Dad. |
