Clubs I belong to:

• Fort Weyr
  • The very first fan club I ever joined. A Dragonriders of Pern fan club.
• The Shared 10th Pass
  • An experiment in building a shared, fannish Pern. This a group of 10th Pass Pern clubs.
• Haven Weyr
  • I am Senior Weyrwoman and the Editor for Haven.
• Telgar Weyr
  • Another 10th Pass club to which I belong.
• The Knights of the White Guardian
  • Originally a Doctor Who club, this group celebrates all kinds of s/f goodness.
• Northern Lights Costumers Guild
  • I'm a bit lapsed in membership, but this is a great Guild for Costumers.
• Bellatrix
  • Mount Holyoke College's Japanese Animation, Manga, Comic Book, Science Fiction and Fantasy Club, of which I am a life-time member.

Conventions

Conventions are the lifeblood of the S/F fan, although I suppose that's a generalization. But I think they are the lifeblood, anyway. A chance to leave the mundane far, far behind.

• Arisia
  • The first "real" convention I ever attended, held annually in Boston.
• Luncacon
  • A New York area convention held in the MC Escher hotel.
• Philcon
  • Held in Philadelphia. The last time my husband and I tried to attend our car died on the highway. Some day I shall go back.
• United Fan Con
  • One of the very few fan-run media conventions left. A great experience and affordable, in Springfield, MA.
• NorthEast Convention Listings
  • You guessed it. A giant list of Northeastern Cons.
• Shoujo Con
  • A celebration of Girls' and Women's Manga and Anime. Several friends of mine regularly attend.
• The New Jersey Renaissance Kingdom
  • I used to be a mud player for them, which was very fun.
• Toronto Trek
  • Another con I've never attended, but want to.

  • A fascinating gentleman with awesome ideas on time travel. I met him at a time travel panel at Arisia.
• Anne Bishop
  • Author of the Jewels series, which were very good.
• Sean P. Fodera
  • A staff member of DAW books and a writer in his own right.
• Robin McKinley
  • When I first read "The Hero and the Crown," I knew I read something special. Ms. McKinley never ceases to amaze me.
• Hal Clement
  • Grand Master of Science Fiction. What more needs to be said? Except that he's one of the most delightful fans I've ever met.
• Wen Spencer
  • I think Wen may be the first writer I know that I can say, "I knew her when...." (That's a pun, you know. Please don't throw anything.)
• Kristin Britain
  • Author of Green Rider and First Rider's Call.
• Michael Picray
  • Otherwise known as Missouri Mike.
